Sergey Semenov is Scientific Director and Chief Scientist of Yu.A Izrael Institute of Global Climate an Ecology (IGCE), Moscow, Russia. His research field includes climate science, ecology, and physics of the atmosphere. He is the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Bureau member and vice-chair of IPCC working Group II since 2008, and has been lead author and coordinated lead author of IPCC assessment reports. He was awarded the honorary title “Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation” and Medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland II degree. He is also the member of National Committee on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Scientific Council of Russian Academy of Sciences on the Sun-Earth Interactions, and Russian Ecological Academy
