Igor Savin works at the V.V. Dokuchaev Soil Science Institute as head of Unit of Soil Mapping since 2011. Before that, he worked for 2 years at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and for 7 years at the Joint Research Center of the European Commission (MARS Unit) (Italy) as a researcher. He is a Professor of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Doctor of Agriculture and Candidate of Geographical Sciences. He has more than 30 years of scientific research experience in the field of mapping and monitoring of soils and crops, evaluation of soil and land resources for agricultural purposes. He is an author of more than 300 scientific publications.
