Zhang Miao is an associate professor at Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his Ph.D. in Cartography and Geographical Information System from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2014. He worked as a key member of CropWatch team which serves as remote sensing-based global agricultural monitoring Cloud Platform. He was nominated as Executive Committee member of GEOGLAM Flagship and one of the co-leads of the Joint Experiments for Crop Assessment and Monitoring (JECAM) Initiative which strengthened the internationally collaborative relationships with researchers from more than 20 countries and other international organizations under GEOGLAM context. His research focuses on remote sensing-based agriculture monitoring.
